SYPA 2010 Prize Presentation Ceremony & Exhibition

The Prize Presentation & Photo Exhibition Opening Ceremony was held on 6 July 2010 at the National Museum of Singapore. It was graced by RADM Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts. The photo exhibition was opened to the public from 7 to 25 July 2010. It showcased not only the winning works, but also masterpieces of guest exhibitors including veteran photographers Mr Kwek Leng Joo, Mr Chow Chee Yong, Mr Lee Tiah Khee, Mr Sebastian Tan and Ms Wang Hui Fen.

Guest-of-Honour RADM Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, recognised SYPA’s contribution to Singapore’s goal of becoming a vibrant and sustainable global city of the arts by constantly injecting new blood into the photographic community.

Mr Kwek Leng Joo, Chairman of Singapore Young Photographer Award Steering Committee, presented a token of appreciation to RADM Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts.

Guest-of-Honour RADM Lui Tuck Yew, Chairman of SYPA Steering Committee Mr Kwek Leng Joo, Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman of National Arts Council and the winners of the 3rd Singapore Young Photographer Award 2010.

Overall winner of the Youth category, Hong Huazheng , took home $5,000 cash prize and a plaque.

Winner of the CDL Young Architectural Photographer Award, Hendry Poh, shared the inspiration behind his winning photos with the Guest-of-Honour.

The exhibition at National Museum of Singapore drew crowds, all eager to witness the raw talents of our local young photographers.
